Ed Simpson is actually now in his third logistics career, consequently he is often introduced at Seminars as “The Elder Statesman of Logistics in Australia”.
In his first logistics career Ed spent 18 years of his 24 year Regular Army career in Logistics. In his last military position as a Lieutenant Colonel in Headquarters Logistics Command he was the Finance Manager for the Army Supply Service.
His second 11-year logistics career was with Australia’s largest retail department store group, Myer Grace Bros, where he was State Distribution Manager in 3 different States before being appointed National General Manager for Distribution. At the time of his retirement from Myer Grace Bros Ed was General Manager Logistics Development with a special brief to introduce new technology and techniques into State and National Distribution Centres as well as the 70 (+) Department Stores.
His current career as the previous MD and currently as Principal Mentor of Logistics Consulting International Pty Ltd has provided Ed with the opportunity to work in a number of industries with a range of high profile Companies in Australia, the Middle East and China, including:
